Just got back from Orwell festival in Ipswich - absolutely fantastic weekend ! Such a friendly festival and great to jam with so many wonderful musicians and see so many good bands !
Really enjoyed playing our Mardi Grass set. The comments we got suggests it went down well and the marquee was filling up as we played. We should have some Youtube vids and pictures up soon - massive thanks to Chris and Ralph for booking us to play - we're looking forward to returning next year :-) Special thanks also to Rebecca and her husband who travelled up from Somerset - we're playing The Riverside Inn at Cheddar, Somerset 25th August and look forward to meeting up.
Enjoyed the Gospel session in the marquee this morning - Ray (Tassie) and I did our (now traditional) version of 'Hallelujah I'm Ready' and we managed to get out alive ;-))
Hippy Joe Hymas was just incredible (as always). He's in so many different bands and plays blindingly well in all of them - his mandolin playing with Dr Bluegrass in the bar stage was pure creativity.
Leon Hunt n-tet played a cracking set even though the generator (therefore the lights) went off for a few minutes in the middle of it - the show must go on !
Our next gigs are The Windlesham Club 1st June and The Three Mariners Bagshot 2nd June. We've then got a couple of private gigs on 16th and 17th June before we headline the East Anglian Bluegrass festival on 22nd, 23rd and 24th June.

Hope to see you soon,
